We hope that you are all doing well.  We are happily meeting with and serving customers – filling orders, showing diamonds and colored stones, creating custom rings and so on.

At this time we need to accept and deal with the explosive numbers that we see here with the coronavirus.  We would like to extend sincere condolences to any of you who have experienced a loss of a family member or a friend to COVID-19.

With the current situation with the virus, this is a time to take more protective measures to keep all of us safe. We value our friendships with you. We value you as people. We value our kupuna (elders) customers and we also value our kupuna employees --- which is all of us! Some of us are also at higher risk because of pre-existing conditions.

With all these considerations we at The Diamond Specialists, Inc. have decided to comply with the Safe Access Oahu guidelines. These are the same guidelines we all now must deal with when dining in at a restaurant on Oahu.  We will need to see a photo I.D. along with proof of vaccination or proof of negative results of an FDA approved COVID-19 test executed within 48 hours before our meeting.

In addition, if you travel or attend a large gathering, we ask that you either provide proof of negative results of an FDA approved COVID-19 test executed within 48 hours before our meeting or schedule your appointment with us at least 10 days after the day of your gathering or your last day of travel.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. We need to take care of and protect everyone in our ohana and our community.

Mask-up. Wash your hands. Social distance. Avoid closed spaces. STAY SAFE!

Life is good.  Live fully.  Love as much as you possibly can.

OVER- GRADED        DIAMONDS

Is it ethically alright to sell a diamond as a G color when the color is really an N?  What if the G was really an I color?   Or selling a diamond as a VS2 clarity when the clarity is really an SI2?  Shockingly, many people in the diamond and jewelry industries feel that it is fine to use third-party diamond grading reports to overstate the color and clarity of the diamonds they sell. They accomplish this this by simply offering you diamonds with EGL or other diamond grading reports.

The overgrading of diamonds has become institutionalized within the diamond and jewelry industries and as a result hundreds of thousands of diamonds worth billions of dollars have been sold to consumers with overgraded reports.  Most notably, the dealers and retailers selling overgraded reports see nothing wrong with doing this and they are unashamed of their actions.  The end result is that selling overgraded reports and diamonds have become an open license to lie about diamond quality.

At The Diamond Specialists, Inc. our policy is to only sell diamonds with GIA (Gemological Institute of America) and AGS (American Gem Society) grading reports.  In our opinion these two laboratories are the most consistently accurate in their grading in the world.

We have no confidence in and therefore avoid selling diamonds that come with grading reports from the following laboratories:

                EGL International
                EGL Israel
                EGL USA
                EGL Hong Kong
                EGL China
                EGL India
                EGL Turkey
                EGL Canada
                EGL Miami
                EGL Antwerp
                EGL Platinum
                Any other newly created
                     EGL branch
                IGI (International                                          Gemological Institute)
                HRD (Hoge Raad voor
           Diamant)

Our prices for beautiful and extremely well cut diamonds that are strictly graded and with GIA and AGS Grading Reports are often less than half of other retailers.  And our prices for comparable diamonds are less than those of companies that mislead the public and pose as "wholesalers" while offering bogus grading certificates.  Do not be fooled. - read this.

We can help whether you are in the market for a 5 ct GIA certified D color and Internally Flawless clarity Round Super Ideal Cut diamond or a 0.30 ct GIA certified J color and SI2 clarity Round Super Ideal Cut diamond and anything in-between.  Or for any diamond of any size, shape, color and clarity all with legitimate GIA or AGS grading.
